Ashley + Jacob Wedding Film

October 20, 2018

Carrollton, Missouri

The Story:

Jake planned a wonderful trip out to Colorado for Ashley's birthday. The two flew into Denver where they stayed at a neat hotel overlooking union station. They celebrated that night under the lights at Larimer square. The next day they boarded the California Zephyr and taking a train ride through the beautiful mountains. They arrived in Glenwood Springs where Jake had booked the Historic Hotel Denver. He had a gorgeous flower arrangement waiting upon their arrival. That night they enjoyed the natural hot springs pool and woke up the next morning to snow covered mountains. It was a picture perfect!

Jake being the sweetest human (Ashley still oblivious to what is about to happen) asked Ashley to dance that morning in their hotel room! They then bundled up to go see some beautiful Glenwood sights. As they walked down the snowy river walkway Jake explained that the river they were walking beside merges with another river forming one under the bridge they are headed towards (again Ashley still oblivious, those who know Jake know it would be normal for him to know this kind of detail).

They reach the bridge and the views were just as amazing as expected. About that time a little girl comes walking towards them on the trail, Ashley realizes its Hali and yells out, confused she quickly looks back to Jake and he had tears in his eyes. It is that moment that Ashley was no longer oblivious but crying the happiest of tears.

Jake pulls a bible verse out of his pocket, to shaken up to read it he says "Here you read it" and passes it to Ashley. :) He then got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage! ( ALL THE HAPPY TEARS). It doesn't stop there, he then pulls a second box out of his pocket and gives a beautiful speech to Hali about becoming one big family. In the box is a necklace with all three of their birthstones on it and "Family" engraved. He then explains that on the inside of Ashley's ring are the same three birthstones! (Its okay, everyone is crying at this point!)

We were so blessed to spend the remainder of this wonderful day celebrating with Ashley's sister and brother in-law (Amber and Kevin) and Jake's brother (Todd)! The day was more magical than the scenes of a Hallmark movie!

The Inspiration:

Ashley and Jake are easily some of the nicest people we’ve ever met. Usually we like to feel as if we’re serving the bride and groom during the wedding day, but with Ashley and Jake, we were the ones who felt taken care of.
